What’s the first moment you remember feeling called to lead?
One of my formative experiences as a young leader occurred in Africa during the Ebola crisis. The situation was overwhelming, and although I did not hold an official leadership position, my peers looked to me for guidance. Leadership can sometimes be thrust upon individuals unexpectedly. As a Specialist, I found myself in a team where a designated leader was present; however, I needed to adapt and lead in a manner that would benefit everyone involved, ensuring we all returned safely to our families. While one can influence a group, it is important to recognize that only a select few will choose to follow.
